The Chateau Frontenac is a grand hotel in Quebec City and is generally recognized as one of the most photographed hotels in the world. This "chateau" style hotel was built for the Canadian Pacific Railway company and was one of a series of hotels built with the same architectural style. The objective was to promote luxury tourism to wealthy travelers. This masterpiece opened in 1893 and was built with the intention to be opened in time for the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. However it was not done in time.
